Privacy Policy
tagwerk is built on a simple principle: your practice belongs to you. There are no accounts and no sign-up. Your journal content — written reflections and photos of your work — is stored locally on your device. The tagwerk app does not operate its own server for journal content and does not include analytics or tracking SDKs. The only data that leaves the device is what is technically required to deliver daily content and, once subscriptions launch, to verify and restore a purchase (see below).

Data Storage
All journal entries — reflection text, practice records, and photos you attach — are stored exclusively on your own device using the device's local storage. Journal content is not transmitted to any server operated by tagwerk. The legal basis for this local processing is your consent and the performance of the service you requested (Art. 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR).
Camera and Photos
tagwerk lets you photograph the work you made during a studio protocol, or attach an existing photo from your library. Camera and photo library access is only activated after you explicitly grant permission through the operating system. Photos are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to any server operated by tagwerk.
Content Delivery
The app's daily content — analyses, studio protocols, and artwork reproductions — is bundled with the app or downloaded from our content delivery infrastructure (Cloudflare, Inc.). When content is downloaded, standard technical data such as your IP address may be processed by Cloudflare for security, performance, and delivery purposes. No journal content, identifiers, or usage profiles are transmitted with these requests. This processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in delivering the app's content reliably).
In-App Purchases
Full access to tagwerk is planned as an auto-renewable subscription (Monthly €4.99 or Yearly €34.99); during the beta phase, no purchases are offered. Once subscriptions launch, payments are processed by Apple (iOS/macOS) or Google (Android) under their own terms and privacy policies, and subscription status is verified via RevenueCat, Inc. (USA) so that access is restored correctly across reinstalls and devices. RevenueCat receives the purchased product identifier, the entitlement state, and an anonymous app user ID — it does not receive journal content, reflections, or photos. The journal itself is never paywalled. The legal basis for this processing is the performance of the contract you enter into when subscribing (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Analytics & Tracking
The tagwerk app does not include analytics tools, cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party tracking SDKs. This website does not set marketing cookies and does not include third-party analytics; it is hosted via Cloudflare — see below.
Hosting & Infrastructure
This website is hosted via Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When accessing this website, standard technical data such as your IP address may be processed by Cloudflare for security, performance, and content delivery purposes. This processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable website). For more information, see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Artwork Reproductions
The artwork reproductions shown in the app and on this website originate from museum open-access programs (such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Cleveland Museum of Art) under public-domain / CC0 designations. They contain no personal data of app users.
Export & Deletion
You can export your journal as an archive file at any time using the built-in export function. You can permanently delete your journal content by clearing app data or uninstalling the app. Journal content is not retained on any external system operated by tagwerk.
Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data. Because journal content is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers, these rights are exercised directly through your device (export the archive, delete entries, or clear app data). For purchase data held by RevenueCat, Apple, or Google, please contact the respective provider. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in Austria this is the Datenschutzbehörde (dsb.gv.at). For any questions, contact: hello@tagwerk.art
Changes to this Policy
